Happy St Patrick's Day!

Bee-utiful day! Checked my bees this morning and gave them a winter patty. Both hives made it through winter (so far - this has been a challenge for me for 4 years now).

The hive with a northern queen is really doing well, and they were up and flying when I popped the top this morning. The southern queen's hive not doing quite as well, but I think they'll make it.

I put out some sugar syrup for them to enjoy as they venture out over the next few warm days. Also ordered another package of bees for April delivery. Let's hope for a good season for honey and bee production!
